Digital Signage as a way to stay ahead of the competition in visual communication

post-title

Communication has never been as simple and effective as it is today. The latest technologies open up completely new possibilities in the field of visual presentation of information and promotional content. Digital Signage is an excellent example of this.

The contemporary development of communication technologies provides us with a number of modern tools thanks to which the messages conveyed are increasingly better adapted to the recipient, both in terms of context and presentation time. A new dimension of multimedia content distribution, not only advertising but also information, is possible thanks to Digital Signage. This is communication based on various types of digital media, integrated with a modern content management system.

Jansen Display and Digital Signage systems

One of the leading distributors and manufacturers of high-class POS materials and equipment designed for digital communication in public space is Jansen Display company. In the range available at www.jansen-display.pl the manufacturer offers monitors for continuous operation with a wide range of formats, tablets, digital kiosks and multimedia totems.

Thus, the company's rich offer includes a range of modern devices created with a view to multimedia display of information and advertising content, realised with the use of high-quality equipment that allows to create communication systems used both for promotion and implementation of advertising campaigns, as well as for purely informative purposes.

How did it all start?

Digital Signage is a system of multimedia information carriers which is also referred to as narrowcasting or digital merchandising. It is a form of external display of visual content which has its origins in the 1980s and 1990s. Back then, in the U.S. retail stores, regular TV sets were used to promote advertising content recorded on VHS tapes.

However, the true birth of Digital Signage took place only when flat screens adapted to continuous operation were created and systems allowing for multidimensional management of the displayed content began to be used for managing the displayed advertisements.

Digital Signage system elements

Present Digital Signage systems are already commonly used in public space - shops, urban infrastructure, airports, railway stations etc. Such a form of communication is more and more frequently applied also in companies, allowing the employees to quickly exchange information. The elements of Digital Signage are:

  • monitors of various sizes, which, depending on the needs, can be dedicated to continuous work - including outdoor work,
  • tablets mounted on special holders or stands,
  • information platforms with touch screens.

Special computer programmes or mobile applications are used to manage the emitted content, which can be used to introduce new information, make necessary changes or determine the time and place of presentation of specific materials.

Digital Signage systems can be simple and encompass a few media or extremely complex and support dozens or even hundreds of devices emitting various content. However, in a strictly advertising application, these systems can not only promote products or services through banners and advertising spots but also, thanks to interactive screens, allow for their convenient purchase through, for example, an online shop.
